October 2024 Harvest in Sicily

A special blend crafted from indigenous Sicilian olive varieties: Nocellara, Biancolilla, Cerasuola, Calamignara.

- Our olives are organically grown and harvested early in the season while still green.
- They are cold-pressed within 12 hours using a low-oxygen impact system to preserve their quality.
- The oil is filtered through cellulose panels to remove 100% of residues, enhancing its long-term stability.

 

Aromatic notes

olixir® presents a fruity bouquet, opening with elegant notes of green olives, followed by fresh, herbaceous hints of wild herbs and artichoke, and finishing with a touch of black pepper.

On the palate, it is well-balanced and harmonious. The taste and retro-nasal sensations complement each other, enhancing its aromas. It proudly reveals a pleasant degree of bitterness and spiciness, a sign of its rich polyphenol content.


In 2024, olixir® won the Great Taste Award for the third consecutive year, making us one of the few olive oil producers to earn the prestigious title of "Great Taste Producer" awarded by London’s Guild of Fine Food.

The Key Nutritional Values and their health benefits:

1. High Concentration of Polyphenols & Antioxidants: the polyphenol-rich content in olixir® protects blood lipids from oxidation. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has validated a series of clinical studies linking extra virgin olive oil polyphenols to cardiovascular health. Research has shown that polyphenols in olive oil help protect blood lipids from oxidative stress, a key factor in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. To achieve these benefits, the olive oil must contain a certain polyphenol level and should be consumed daily (20-30 g), equivalent to 2-3 tablespoons.

2, Rich in Vitamin E: thanks to its high vitamin E content, it helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

3, Helps Reduce Cholesterol: its high content of healthy monounsaturated fats (oleic acid) contributes to lowering cholesterol levels. Replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats, including monounsaturated fats, has been proven to have positive effects on reducing blood cholesterol levels.

4. Very Low Acidity: ensuring a high-quality nutritional profile, it maintains an exceptionally low acidity level, which is a key indicator of superior olive oil quality.
